Jim Cox Jim Cox's Recovery

First post: Oct 23, 2016 Latest post: Nov 7, 2016
Jim Cox suffered a massive stroke October 13.  He had to undergo brain surgery to remove a clot in his brain.  The clot was located in the area of the brain that controls speech and the surgery left him unable to speak.  He has made great improvements since the surgery and speech is slowly returning but his recovery will still be a long journey.  He is able to walk short distances and has some weakness on his right side.  His speech is the area he will be requiring the most therapy.  This page created this page to keep family and friends updated on Jim's recovery.  Many of you have asked how you can help.  Please click on the ways to Help icon which will have a link to a Go Fund Me page and a Care Calendar.  At this time, Jim requires around the clock care so a family member has been staying with him during the day and at night.  Wendell, Freddy and Erique are splitting their time between the hospital and home with the girls and will continue to do this after he is moved to a Rehab facility.  The Go Fund Me will help with the parking fees, meals, and paying a "sitter" when needed.  The Care Calendar lists days that meals would be needed.  I will add volunteering to sit with Jim at a later date when that schedule is known.  Freddy may need rides to the hospital and back but that schedule is not known and will be added later.
My contact number is listed in the Care Calendar and you are welcome to contact me if you cannot reach Wendell or Erique.
Please keep Jim and the family in your prayers.
Thank you,
Brenda
