Jim Chapman

Over the past few years Jim Chapman has had several health challenges.  His first Open Heart Valve Replacement Surgery was in December 2014 followed with a Pace Maker in March 2015 and a Hip Replacement Surgery in February of 2016.... which leads us to "today" in April 2017 after his second open heart surgery.

After his first open heart surgery; he had good days and bad days.  If I could ask my dad to share with me some examples of his good days, I have no doubt that every one of those days would be a day with his family.  Our family has grown with several weddings, babies and his first great grandchild... He has shared with everyone how proud he is of having 17 Grandkids.  He may occasionally mention something about one of his five kids and two step-daughters, however, we all know that we do not compare to his grandkids or his dogs...LOL

The love for his family was the driving force when he made the decision to undergo another surgery.  The LVAD (Left Ventricle Assist Device) surgery also included repairing the Right Ventricle from the first surgery.  The LVAD could increase his quality of life and allow him to spend more time with Debbie, traveling, watching grandkids grow up and he even mentioned playing golf which made us laugh.  Not that he has not played golf, but, it took us all by surprise that he didn't say something about camping or boating. 

He knew this would be a long and tough fight... We know that he... is Tough like John Wayne... has a Heart like John Denver... and... is Strong like Wilbur Chapman!!
