Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

I had my annual check up in December 2016 and found I was anemic, they took another test that day and said I needed to see a hematologist.  I just returned from Italy on Saturday January 21st from an amazing 10 day vacation with Betty Geist, as we were out visiting Tammi.  Steve and I met with Dr Rudrapatna – Hematologist Oncologist  at Bliss Cancer Center in Ames, IA– for the first time on Monday January 23rd 2017 at Trinity Regional Hospital in Ft Dodge.  He took a blood test and at that time he explained to me my white blood cells were down to an eight and the red blood cells are larger than normal.  He set up for me to have a bone marrow biopsy on the 24th in Ames at Bliss Cancer Center which he performed himself.  After the test was finished he said he would see me on a regular scheduled appointment on Monday.  He called me Wednesday 25th at 4pm with the results of why I was anemic.  Dr R stated I had an acute form of leukemia.  He scheduled a Thursday 26th morning meeting at 9:30 with Steve, I, Amy, Lindy and Andrea explaining what was going to change our life over the next 4 weeks.  So here we are now….I’m feeling great and this all seems like a dream as I don’t feel sick.

Much love and please send me many prayers, Jill
