Almost two weeks after surgery we got the pathology report and it wasn't good news. Jewell has Stage 3C1 carcinoma. It had metastasized into the regional lymph nodes and followup chemotherapy will start October 3rd. Every 3 weeks for 6 treatments we will be spending 5 hours infusing oncologic drugs to hopefully eradicate any remaining microscopic cancer cells that may have been left behind. This series will continue till mid-January. In the meantime, we are leaning on the Lord for courage, bravery, endurance, and optimism, being carried on the wings of prayer.
