Jessica accompanied her boyfriend, Henry Seymour, and his family to Tulum, Mexico in mid-March. During her vacation, Jessica suffered a yet undiagnosed serious health crisis which necessitated an ambulance transport almost 2 hours away to Cancun. In the first hours in the small private hospital, her condition became more serious. From there, she required yet another transfer to a somewhat larger hospital where she stayed 2 days in the ICU. Jessica's dad, Troy Weich, and her brother-in-law, Drew Kjellsen, flew out first thing to be with her. Jessica was evacuated on a medical jet from Mexico and arrived at the University of MN Fairview Medical Center on Sunday March 20th. Her condition required sedation and intubation and she was admitted to the Neuro ICU unit for testing (MRI, CT scan, lumbar puncture, EEG, etc) and treatment (mediation and nutrition through IVs) of her still undiagnosed condition. Jessica was extubated after 2 days and has continued to receive wonderful care in the Neuro ICU while her medical team awaits test results. Her family appreciates the overwhelming love and support they have received and will continue to give updates as they become available.
