Jessica Grant Jessica's Journey

First post: Jan 18, 2016 Latest post: Jan 20, 2016
In the early morning hours of January 1st Jessica was the passenger in a car that went out of control into a building. She was left there unconscious by the driver of the vehicle who fled not only the scene but for 12 days until turning himself into police. Jessica has suffered severe brain trauma, what we hope is temporary paralysis of her right side, a broken femur requiring a rod to be placed in her leg and many cuts and bruises. She was in the ICU for the first 15 days of 2016 unable to communicate, speak, or even keep her good eye open for very long. We are not certain the extent of her injuries as only time will tell but, the MANY prayers that have been said for her are certainly being answered slowly. She is much more alert now, moving her left side and trying to smile, cry and move her lips, arm and leg. She even made a good attempt to try and get up! She has had a tracheostomy which so far will not allow her to speak but, we are prayerful that in a week or two that will change as well. Jessie has a 5 year old son and a 2 year old daughter who have not been able to speak to or see their Mommy since she left the house on December 31st. They are hanging in there and are being loved and kept in as much of their normal routine as possible. Hopefully they will be able to see their Mommy very soon.

We ask that you would keep Jessica in your constant prayers first and foremost and we greatly appreciate you doing just that. Please feel free to post messages to her on here and we will try to keep it updated for everyone to check on. If you are interested in donating to help support the children, Jessica's medical needs going forward feel free to go to GOFUNDME and look up Justice for Jessica. We have also set up an account specifically to help pay her bills and you are welcome to send checks to Community Bank of Pleasant Hill, checks payable to Jan Blackburn, memo: Jessica Grant Fund, 2401 N 7 Hwy, PO Box 30, Pleasant Hill, MO 64080. Our family would also like to express our utmost sincere gratitude to the MANY people that have already given so much for Jessie. We are incredibly blessed and humbled by the outpour of love that has been given to help us support her and her beautiful children.
