Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep friends and family updated with information while being able to maintain one main source of communication.
Our story began on Tuesday, May 6th during Jess' 40 week appointment. High blood pressure indicated some potential complications in the pregnancy, so labs were taken. The next morning, the lab results revealed that Jess had met the quota for Pre-eclampsia by 5-7x the amount needed from the lab results. Original plans to have baby at a birthing center were quickly changed, and we were admitted for an afternoon induction.
Jess was induced on May 6th, and put on therapeutic grade drugs to keep her brain from bleeding or from seizures during the delivery. Even though plans changed, Jess completed her goal of delivering healthy, happy Maverick Oliver without pain medication. He was born on 7:19 on May 7th, weighing 7lbs 4oz and 20 inches long.
With this condition, oftentimes symptoms decrease after delivery, but that has not been the case for Jess. Heightened blood pressures have spiked and perplexed medical staff, and caused concern of seizures. Due to this threat, Jess remains on many types of blood pressure medication combinations in hopes to find a solution that will calm down her body.
There was concern with Maverick being discharged as a patient, and Jess being quarentined with no visitors (including Nick and Maverick), but it was finally confirmed on Sunday that as long as she stays out of the Intensive Care Unit, we can be a family and stay at the hospital together.
The main goal of this site is to rally together prayer warriors to pray Jess away from the ICU, and towards healing. Thank you all for your love and concern. We are grateful for each of you.
