"Just a quick note to you all that I have scheduled my brain surgery for April 1 at Regions Hospital with Dr Mendez. They’ve suggested I’ll be in the hospital 3-4 days and then home for another3-6 week recovery. If any of you want to look up more info on this type of tumor it’s called a meninglioma. It’s slow growing, most often not malignant, but it is in a tough place to extract from my brain so they’ll also use radiation after the surgery to kill the parts of the tumor they leave because it is in a sensitive area.
As you might guess , a diagnosis like this totally dumps my basket of “things to do” upside down and I am not sure what I’ve told to whom or when,let alone the day. I have to laugh!
Lou’s been great in the face of so much uncertainty. Don’t think we’ve ever hugged so much.
