Jessica Berger Sims

After having our 3rd child Mason, I had very bad neck and facial swelling, after many Dr. office visits that proved ineffective, I headed to the ER. My condition had worsened and the swelling had now included my right arm too. After getting to the hospital and getting checked in the Dr. immediately came in the room and was checking me out and asking questions before I even had time to change into a gown! He sent me for a CT scan pretty quickly and then ultrasounds after that.... we waited.... after a little while he came in with results of the scan “you have extensive blood clots in your right arm... and...... we found a large mass in your chest..... it looks like cancer but we need to run some more tests” We were admitted and stayed in the hospital for a couple weeks. I had many scans, tests, biopsy’s, port placement, and results that confirmed that I have stage 2b bulky Classic Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. I had my first chemo treatment and then got to go home for thanksgiving! So thankful!!! So life with cancer begins....
