On February 20, 2018 Baby Jesse went to his doctor to have his eyes checked. While at the appointment the doctor noticed his head was getting bigger than it should. She sent Baby Jesse by ambulance to Sioux Falls.  Baby Jesse had a CT scan completed when he arrived and they informed Jesse and Page  that he has hydrocephalus. The plan was to put a shunt in on February 21, 2018 to  drain the fluid and relieve the pressure.  That evening they took an MRI to get a better look before placing a shunt.

February 21, 2018 The doctor's informed Jesse and Page that the MRI showed fluid build up and a mass about 9.5cm. The doctors said the best treatment was to have Baby Jesse flown to Sanford's Children's Hospital in Fargo. He was taken that afternoon. When he arrived he was taken into surgery to put a drain in his head. They want to slowly drain the fluid so blood doesn't fill up in it's place.  The doctor explained that after a few days they will do another MRI to get a better look at the growth near his brain stem/cerebellum area.  After the MRI the surgeon will have a better plan for a surgery on Monday. Baby Jesse will most likely need multiple procedures.  At this time we are unsure if the mass is cancerous.  After the surgery he was alert and the pressure/fluid was draining and releasing pressure right away.

Plan for February 23, 2018 at 8:00am they are going to give Baby Jesse some pain medication and put him to sleep to insert a breathing tube. At 10:15am he will go in for his MRI and it will take about an hour and a half at least.

Jesse, Page, and Baby Jesse need our prayers during this time! They will update as they can.
