Jess is a social studies teacher in the Esko School District. With her energy and creativity, she is a perfect fit for middle schoolers and is dearly loved by her students. In September of 2014, she was diagnosed with glioblastoma stage IV (brain tumor). After 10 months, she got "Jessness" back. Since then, she's endured 2.5 years of bi-weekly chemo. Despite the exhaustion, she continued spending time with family and friends, enjoying life, and even went back to teaching. Unfortunately, the tumor has begun to grow again. This site includes journals from those first months and now current updates.
