Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Jerry's story began in March, 2017.  Jerry was suffering from difficulty in breathing.  His doctor admitted him in the hospital and discovered he had carcinoid syndrome - which is a very treatable cancer in the early stages.  Jerry's cancer started in his stomach, however it has spread to his liver and lymph nodes in his lungs are enlarged.  His cancer damaged his heart valves and Jerry had to have one valve replaced and one valve repaired.  He also had triple bypass surgery.  While in the hospital, Jerry received treatment for his cancer, but now that we are home, he is no longer receiving injections for his cancer.  We believe he will start getting injections every 28 days starting next week.  Since this is such a rare cancer, we (oncologist and us) want him to see a specialist in New Orleans who only studies carcinoid cancer.  At this point (4-10-2017), we are very anxious to get Jerry well enough to get to New Orleans.  We are hoping that will happen mid part of May.  Our prayer request is for Jerry to get stronger and for his cancer not to spread.  We can't begin to tell you what all your cards, meals, flowers, visits and prayers have meant to us.  There are such good people in this world!  We couldn't do this without our friends and family.  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
