Jerry has had interstitial lung disease for over three years, he hasn’t let it slow him down though! With oxygen in tow he traveled, worked, and was living a full life, with a few minor setbacks. This all started to change at the end of July when he developed pneumonia and was hospitalized. He was never able to fully recover from this illness and it exacerbated his condition. Friday September 13th he became very ill and he was transported via Condell to Loyola Medical Center and is in ICU. They were unable to stabilize him and opted for surgery to connect him to an ECMO which takes over the work for his lungs. He is stable now but on a breathing tube which makes him unable to talk (if you know Jerry, then you know this is a first). The care he is receiving at Loyola is top notch and due to their efforts and Jerry’s strong will he was put on the lung transplant list. He is extremely ill and due to the upcoming transplant (hopefully very soon) he is not allowed visitors except for family. We appreciate your prayers
