Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Jerry has a history of strokes and heart attacks but keeps moving onward. He has always lived independently and has been attentive to his doctor in terms of medication and regular visits. Recently, he has been battling sciatica and the immense pain associated with it. He has been taking lots of pain medication but the relief has been minimal. While he was awaiting an epidural injection, he had what appeared to be a stroke on Saturday 2/4. He was admitted and it was discovered that one carotid artery was over 90% blocked and the other was about 60% blocked. They sent him home with medication to treat it, fearing that anesthesia and surgery would over-tax his organs and he might not make it through. He went home and was being cared for 24 hours by a home health nurse, but in fewer than 24 hours of discharge on 2/6, it happened again (2/7 stroke-like indicators).

See the journal for what is happening daily. I'll try to update it regularly. If you "visit", you go in when you like. If you "follow" the site will notify you when something new is added.
