Jerri Buiting Jerri's Journey

First post: Aug 21, 2016 Latest post: Oct 5, 2016
If you're here by invitation, you already know my story:  I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer mid-June, 2016.  I had surgery on July 5 and was told I was cancer free.  Then the trip to the oncologist happened and my "little blip" turned into a major struggle.  "To have chemo or not to have chemo?"   That WAS the question.   How was I supposed to feel healthy when they were going to pump a bunch of poison into my body?  I was told I didn't have cancer but now I'm going to be sick for 6 months!  UGH!!!

I struggled, I prayed, I visited numerous doctors, friends did research for me, I did research, I asked questions, and I worried ... a lot .... those few weeks were by darkest so far.  Thanks to a very good recommendation from a doctor friend of mine, I visited a surgeon who referred me to another doctor.  I loved his approach, his attitude, his knowledge, his bedside manner, and his staff.  I walked out of his office feeling 20 pounds lighter.  I decided that chemo was the best way to fight this and was my best ammunition for preventing its return.  Some in my life did not agree, but it is the choice that I made and I'm not looking back.   I have an awesome doctor and The Great Physician in my corner and am staying in this journey ... feeling positive and VERY warrior-like!

This blog is; therefore, being written to detail my journey ... better known as my battle.  Unfortunately, battle doesn't start with a J" and doesn't sound as cute!  This blog's purpose is to:  1)  To keep everyone  updated, 2) my therapy, 3) to get positive support and hints from others as I move through the fight, and 4) to help and/or inspire others if they have to go thru this ... or a similar ... battle.  I welcome all positive and uplifting comments.

Thanks for being here for me as I fight the fight to WIN!
