Dear Friends and Family,

Thank you for all of your support. I feel blessed by the outpouring of love I am experiencing from an amazing network of caring people.

I was admitted to Regions hospital in St Paul, MN on April first. April fool’s Day!

Tests revealed a mass in my brain and my children David, Daniel and Hayley rallied around me for the surgical procedure that was required to remove a golf ball sized mass. Good news, the surgical team worked for over 8 hours and removed the visible portions of the tumor. Bad news, the biopsy revealed the mass to be a fast growing malignant tumor known as glioblastoma.

The surgery took place April 4th. A bleed in surgery caused a minor stroke.  For the next 3 weeks I was goaded and encouraged by a fabulous team Region’s hospital. Physical, occupational and speech therapists helped me to return to my home with the essential mobility and stability to manage the condo stairs. Of which there are many.

I came home April 21st three days ahead of schedule and have continued to improve. I no longer require a walker at home and am now the early riser making coffee for the caretaker gang. I love visitors and can go out (energy allowing) but am restricted from driving. Please call ahead prior to dropping in or just call!

This week begins a daily regimen of out-patient therapy and appointments to prepare for radiation and chemotherapy.

I feel grateful to have incredible network of support from family, friends and co-workers nation-wide.  Amazingly, I am doing well and recovering.

With appreciation to all of you!

Love,

Jerri
