Those of you that know Jeremy, know he's whip-smart and gets super-consumed with his passion areas. And, one of Jeremy's recent passions? His love of hiking, especially in National Parks. Right before Memorial Day, Jeremy had taken some vacation time to travel around DC and Virginia to enjoy National Park sites as well as some hiking.
Unfortunately, on this trip, Jeremy had a really bad fall while hiking in Shenandoah National Park on this trip. He fell from a steep cliff face on the Bear Fence Trailhead, suffering a number of broken bones and a traumatic brain injury. Since he had been hiking alone, he wasn't found for a few days. Luckily, Jeremy is incredibly organized and left a thorough itinerary of his trip before he left. Doubly lucky, his mom, Deanna White, realized that he hadn't been in touch and that the hadn't shown up where he had planned to go. Lastly, his brother-in-law Brad, was brave enough to drive to the park and search for him personally and found him after looking in the places that Jeremy said he planned to visit. Jeremy was then air-lifted to University of Virginia Health Center in Charlottesville, VA, and he was admitted into the trauma unit.
