Now June 4th, I received a phone call from my brother.  He said, "Jason I have some bad news.  I have lung cancer."  From that point, my world flip.  I thought that was impossible since he is younger than me!  Then I was shell shock!  I could not speak much less breath.  He told me that he will be getting scanned to see how far and wide the cancer had spread.  I thought well hopefully it won't be too far and hope to God that it was early stages.  He got his scans on Friday, June 5th and my Dad and I had time to reflect on the initial shock over the weekend.

On Monday, Jeremy called with the results.  He was stage 4, with the cancer spread to several areas, including his right upper leg, groin, spin, rib cage and left lung.  He told me that he was heading out soon to get another scan to his head, because he had been complaining that he was getting headaches.  I was devastated!

On Tuesday night, Jeremy call again.  The cancer has spread into the brain and was into several places but in small clusters.  I was crushed to my soul.  Jeremy and I talk a lot that evening.  In the end of the discussion, it was decided that he was determined not to go down without a fight.  He told me had to fight this cancer for his family and to see his boys grow up.

And so begins a new chapter in Jeremy's Story...
