Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We’ve created it to keep friends and family updated. We appreciate your support and words of hope during this difficult time.
As some of you know we found an enlarged lymph node in Jeremy’s neck in July before we left for our wedding. He saw a doctor that put him on some antibiotics and said if it was still enlarged after we got back from WA, then come back and we will do more tests. We went to WA for the wedding and had a great time.
The node was still growing when we got home, so on August 29th we went to see an Ear, Nose, and Throat doctor. He sent us to get an ultrasound guided biopsy then then MRI. The biopsy came back as reactive. The MRI showed Level 1 and 2 lymph nodes on the left and level 1 nodes on the right, as being enlarged. With these findings we were referred to the Head and Neck oncology department at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). We saw Dr. Lydiatt on October 10th and he scheduled surgery to remove the largest lymph node for biopsy as soon as we returned from our honeymoon on October 27th.
After a long 6 days on November 4th, we received a call telling us the biopsy came back as Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. We were then referred to Dr. James Armitage the UNMC’s lymphoma specialist.
