Jen’s Journey

On August 21st Jen got the news that she has breast cancer.  With the love and support of friends and family – through laughter and tears – she will beat this again. She has an amazing team of doctors that are confident and positive – they ‘get’ Jen and will develop a strong treatment plan for her.

We Got This

17 years ago Jen went on a routine annual exam.  The doctor unfortunately found a lump and sent her on to have a mammogram, followed by a biopsy that confirmed she had breast cancer.  Her dad had recently been diagnosed with lung cancer, but Jen stayed positive and fought her fight quietly and put her father first.   She stood by him while he lost his fight.  During that time, her treatments included surgery, chemotherapy and radiation.  She embraced her baldness with hats and bandanas since the wig couldn’t capture her personality!  She won her fight and on one of her follow up visits she found out she was five months pregnant with Lucas and then went on to have Lily one year later!

Jen has unparalleled strength and can always be counted on to step in to help unconditionally and without judgment. We know that now, her friends and family will rally around her and support her through this. We will use this Caring Bridge site to post updates on her diagnosis and treatment when new information is available. We got this!
