Hello everyone!

You have all become such a huge part of this journey with me and Larry.  Many people want to walk with us through this scary time and help in all kinds of ways.   I am a pretty independent person, as most of you are aware.  So asking for help or assistance in any way is a challenge to me.  I am the helper bee and want to be there for others.  BUT in the beginning of this, I was taught a lesson from a dear friend that I was being selfish if I did not let others have the same joy that I get in helping others.

My Diagnosis:  Non Small Cell Lung Cancer - Adenocarcinoma - Stage 4 - metastatic -tumor in brain and in lower lymph node -not operable - not curable - TREATABLE - LIVABLE

(NOTE:  Donations made to CaringBridge are for supporting their site and to continue in their efforts.  Thank you!)

My goal here is to share with you the journey we are on, share the things that we like, could use, helpful things, etc.

Your support, your uplifting words, prayers and love have been so overwhelming that I cannot even begin to thank you.  Just know that I am blessed to have you in my life.

Now the beginning of this journey. . . .

My journey started in a surprising way. . . as most do.  But let me start with the basics and build from there.

December 18, 2020 - Larry and I went to get the preventative $49.00 heart scan that our doctors/hospital offered at Hendricks Regional Hospital.  Due to COVID our test was delayed as all elective tests were.

December 18, 2020 (that evening) - My doctor,  Dr. D, called to inform me that they found a large mass in my upper right lung.

December 21, 2020 - Larry's doctor calls about an anomaly with his heart that they want to look at further.

December 24, 2020 - Larry and I are at the hospital again to get tests.  Me for a full chest CT and for him a CT for his heart.

December 28, 2020 - Dr. D called me to confirm that there was a large mass in my right lung and they want a biopsy.  Biopsy was set for January 7, 2021.

around December 29, 2020 - Larry's doctor called and his condition is something that was caught early and will be monitored with his check ups.

January 7, 2021 - Biopsy in the upper lobe in my right lung.

January 8, 2021 - about 12:00 pm I am on the phone with my step mom with her checking in on me.  1:00 pm I get a call from my doctor confirming that I have Cancer.  2:00 pm I get a call to set up an appointment with my oncologist on Monday, January 11, 2021.  By 4:00 I get a call from Eva who is my advocate throughout the journey.  And Jesus is now by my side.

January 11, 2021 - I meet my Oncologist Dr. Bolla.  I immediately know that I am where I am supposed to be.  When I enter this appointment, all we know is that there is a large mass in my lung, enlarged lymph nodes in my lung and mediastinum.  ORIGINAL DIAGNOSIS:  Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer - Adenocarcinoma - Stage 3 and not operable.

More details to come to catch you up to the final diagnosis.  :}

FINAL DIAGNOSIS:  Non Small Cell Lung Cancer - Adenocarcinoma - Stage 4 - metastatic -tumor in brain and in lower lymph node -not operable - not curable - TREATABLE - LIVABLE

My new outlook on life is here.  Once we get this cancer manageable, I will be living my best life.
