Hi there my precious, loving & supportive family and friends! 


My story began around 2 months ago when I noticed 2 pea-sized nodules underneath the skin on my left underarm.  I really thought that they were swollen lymph nodes that were irritated from my deodorant.  After ignoring them for well over a month, I finally made an appointment with Dr. Unell, my ob/gyn .  During that visit, he found 2 more spots of suspicion & ordered a mammogram.  The doctor that read my mammogram, wanted to look further at the spots with a sonogram.  After the sonogram, he told Clay & me that it was likely one of 2 things:  an infection in my armpit, that would be treatable with an antibiotic, or cancer! Two days later, I went back for a biopsy. I still just really believed that it was going to be an infection, and I would take an antibiotic and that this would all be gone!  On Tuesday evening, January 17th, I received a call that I have infiltrated duct cell carcinoma, a type breast cancer.  It felt like our whole world had been turned upside down!  I'm a 38 year old "healthy" girl, who RARELY even gets so much as a cold, and has no closely related family history of breast cancer!  HOW COULD THIS BE?  The ONLY explanation is that God has chosen this path for me & my precious family to walk. Proverbs 16:9 "In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps."   We met with  Dr. Mary Brian, a breast specialist and surgeon, on Thursday, the 19th.  She ordered an MRI for this Monday morning, January 23rd, to make sure that there are no other spots anywhere in my body.  We are PRAYING BIG that it is localized & that no other spots are found!  After Dr. Brian has the MRI results, we will meet back to hear her recommendation of the next steps that should be taken. 

God is SO GOOD!  He has drawn us so much closer to Him this past week and reminded us to focus on what is truly important in this life!  My hope & prayer is that as we pass through this trial, we TRUST & LOVE HIM so much more than ever before!  May God be glorified and  SHINE HIS LIGHT through my story!  Thank you for loving on me & my family so well....it means the world!  We appreciate your prayers, support & encouragement!
