Hi Everybody, Well the good news is that the debilitating mobility impairment that has dogged me since we lost Dave has a real structural cause. My right hip is toast. I'll post the X-ray in the gallery. I'm now scheduled for hip replacement surgery at Sutter Santa Rosa Hospital on July 16, 2018, with orthopedic surgeon Briant Smith, MD. I'm so excited that there is a solution and that I will eventually have my life back.
However, given that I won't be able to drive for probably a month, and Felicia and I live out here in gorgeous West Sonoma County, we are going to need some help. Felicia has graduated high school and is working on getting a job, and will hopefully learn to drive this summer. But she doesn't yet drive and cannot get around without someone who does. My two sisters, Liz and Madeline, will take shifts as the other adult on site, but there are some big gaps. I'll use this site to keep my world updated on how I'm doing, and to give you options to help out during this important time.
