Here is  what brought her to the hospital Monday night.  Around 11pm Tuesday night June 22nd, Jenny was complaining of shortness of breath and felt like an elephant was sitting on her chest. Her symptoms got progressively worse so I called 911 about 11:20pm. When the paramedics arrived, her breathing had become very shallow and she seemed only semi responsive. They carried her down to the ambulance on a gurney and said they were taking her to Hinsdale hospital as it was the closest. On the way to he hospital she went into cardiac failure and they administered CPR the entire way to the hospital plus about five minutes after she arrived until she was able to regain a pulse. They put her on an a respirator and a team of docs worked on her for a couple of hours to get her stabilized. They estimate that her heart was stopped for about 16 minutes. 

Around 3am, they moved her to ICU where she could continue to have an entire team closely monitor her. I called family between 3-4am to explain what had occurred and Kelli surprised me Wednesday morning by driving to Darien from Iowa City, so I wouldn’t be alone. 

She is at Advent Medical Center Hinsdale, 120 N. Oak Street, Hinsdale, IL, 60521. The main hospital number is 630-856-9000. She is in ICU Room 5905.
