Welcome to Jenny's Caring Bridge. If you are visiting this page, it's because you care about Jenny, who is a mom, wife, mamaw, great-grandma, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend. Jenny has stage 4 metastatic breast cancer, but she is not defined by her illness. Her life is defined by the lives that she has touched. She is loved by so many, and so this website is set up so that you can send memories and well wishes to Jenny. There have been so many friends and family members that have checked in on Jenny and the family. This site will be used to keep family and friends up-to-date on Jenny's health.
August of 2011, Jenny was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. She had a mastectomy on the right side in October with chemo treatment starting three days before Christmas. The years after chemo went really well. November of 2015, Lymphedema set in her right arm, which caused a little concern. In January of 2016, scans were ran as a precaution, and it was found that the breast cancer had returned, but this time it had spread to her bones. It slowly progressed as the year went along. June of this year (2017), it was decided that the chemo was doing more harm to her body than good, and all treatment was stopped.
Words cannot express how thankful and grateful we are to Dr Riley and the entire staff at the James Brown Cancer Center in Louisville. They really do become your second family.
If there ever comes a day when we can't be together, keep me in your heart, I'll stay there forever. - Winnie The Poo
