Jennifer has contracted a rare and fast-acting cancer called Merkel Cell Carcinoma. The disease is a form of skin cancer, also known as Neuroendocrine Carcinoma. She has had one surgery to remove a fairly large tumor and has had a PET scan, MRI and numerous other types of CT scans and mammograms to determine if the cancer has spread and, if so, where in her body the disease has migrated or is migrating to. Jennifer has already undergone 3 biopsies, and will have 3 more done on Thursday, December 6. She will also meet with her surgeon and oncologist on Thursday. The doctors will discuss Jennifer's pathology reports and develop a treatment plan that will include additional surgery, chemo therapy, radiation therapy or a combination thereof.
