Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using this site to keep family and friends updated in one place.  We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

In October 2016,  Jennifer, was diagnosed with two rare and progressive diseases — dermatomyositis and chronic interstitial lung disease. This past March, we were given the devastating news that Jennifer’s lungs were end-stage, meaning the inflammation and scarring of her lung tissue was so great that her lungs were failing. Jennifer would not survive without a lung transplant.
While there’s life, there’s hope.
Jennifer completed a full evaluation at Duke University Hospital in June and was invited to the Duke Lung Transplant Program. Through the emotional lows our family has felt for the wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend we love so much, we have had much hope and gratitude for the opportunity for Jennifer to get a second chance with a new set of healthy lungs.
To Know Jennifer to know kindness, love and acceptance. She is the rock of our family – strong, solid and her ideals unwavering. The last few years have been extremely difficult. Jennifer was oxygen dependent and primarily confined to her house . Simple activities like washing dishes and showering required incredible effort. Jennifer has lived a life of giving back, which shines in the lives of her children.  Jennifer’s will and determination to live her life are and will always be an inspiration to all who love her so much.
