Life really changed on June 19, 2016, and there's so much more to come. Jen was admitted to the Northwestern ER and had emergency surgery two days later to remove a 10+ cm cyst on her ovary. The cyst was malignant, diagnosed as Burkitt Lymphoma. Burkitt is an extremely rare form of non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, and recognized as the fastest growing human tumor. The aggressive nature of this disease must be attacked aggressively in return, and Jen immediately began inpatient chemotherapy less than a week after the diagnosis.
