Jelani’s story starts in November 2016 when he and his family went to spend Thanksgiving in Shreveport, LA. While there, he started feeling an unexplainable discomfort in his chest and no matter the position that he was in, the discomfort was still present and bothering him. After returning home, he went in and was seen by his doctor. While thinking that this was just some type of respiratory infection, the doctor sent him for some further testing. At the end of January, he has been diagnosed with a type of Thymus Cancer. In mid-February, he would be more specifically be diagnosed with stage 4A Thymoma. While the results were hard to swallow, Jelani has stayed strong and positive. Now in April, he is scheduled to start his fight against this beast along with his family and friends by his side. Thank you for taking the time to read his story.
