While my official story started 45 years ago, my kidney-related story started about 2 decades ago, when I first learned I have Kidney Disease. Life took a turn both for the better spiritually, and for the worst physically. Around the time I met my soon to be wife, over 5 years ago, my health started to deteriorate. It became necessary to seek a kidney biopsy, to learn I do in fact have scarring of the kidneys, that will not only not get better, but continue to deteriorate. I was sick enough to get added to the Kidney Transplant Donor list in 2016, started Dialysis in 2017, and am here today awaiting a transplant.

A very good friend, past roommate twice, and all around great person heard I was in need, and raced to Duke to offer up a kidney. Its hard to explain how emotional that is, but it really does mean a hope for a somewhat normal life. My dialysis treatment has me tied to my bed > 12 hours a day. Couple that with working a full time job, there is zero time to do the things most people take for granted. I really do consider her my savior, somewhere behind Christ.

My surgery is scheduled for 4/15/19, just a few days shy of my 4th anniversary. Thank you for visiting, and offering to help. We appreciate you all very much!
