Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. Our journey really began in October, when Jeff was diagnosed with squamous cell cancer of hypo pharynx.  We began through KSB & CGH, where everyone was wonderful.  However, after visiting the University of Iowa Cancer Center for a 2nd opinion, it became immediately clear that this was the best place for treatment..  So, we moved into the Hope Lodge (which is a wonderful facility) on December 17.  Jeff’s treatment of radiation & chemo therapy began on December 18th.  Treatments will be 7 weeks, so we plan to stay at Hope Lodge during the weeks & return home on weekends.  We are especially touched by our community of family & friends reaching out to our boys while we are away.  Thank you for taking away the worry about them!  It means a lot knowing they have your support.  So, a huge thank you for all of your prayers, support and words of hope and encouragement.
