https://www.gofundme.com/jeffreykalfut On Monday, July 3rd, 2017, Jeffrey's medical journey began. During a scheduled preventative colonoscopy, 10 pre-cancerous polyps were identified and successfully removed. A small, suspicious mass was also detected, although it could not be safely removed during the procedure. Last week Jeffrey had an MRI, and it was revealed that there is a small stage 1 tumor in the rectum, that needs to be removed immediately for further pathology analysis of the entire mass. Since the growth is in the early stage (not having penetrated beyond the 2nd of 5 layers of the lining), the prognosis is excellent. Jeffrey is moving forward to schedule surgery within the next 3 weeks. More pathology is needed to determine a complete treatment protocol, but we've already been advised that future treatment options may include some or all of the following: chemotherapy, radiation therapy and additional surgery.
