Jeffrey McKee Powell, 73, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 31, 2019 in Savannah, GA surrounded by his family.

Jeffrey was born May 22, 1945 at The Presidio military base in San Francisco, CA to William and Eleanor Powell. Shortly after, his family moved to Warren, OH where he attended school with his three younger sisters - Leslie, Mary Jane and Lisa. Jeffrey was an exceptional technological talent even at a young age, achieving his Ham radio license at the age of 10, and creating a motorized bicycle at the age of 14.

He continued to pursue his technology interests by attending Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH, obtaining a degree in Electrical Engineering. While attending Case Western Reserve, Jeffrey was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity where he established several life-long friendships, and also met his wife, Shelley Luke.

After graduating, Jeffrey embarked on an impressive technology career spanning several markets and decades, tallying up patents as he went. His inventions and achievements were years ahead of the competition, and he continued to pursue his interests until his final days, just as he intended. Jeffrey was a remarkable friend to many with a usually reserved, uniquely strong personality. His quick wit was frequently on display in his work and in conversation, and his dry sense of humor demanded a laugh and lifted any spirit.

Jeffrey is preceded in death by his parents, William H. Powell and Eleanor L. S. Powell.

He is survived by his wife, Shelley J. Powell; three children, Scott (Nikole), Bradley (Lindsay) and Eric Powell; and five grandchildren, Luciana, Angelina, Lincoln, Nora and Zachary Powell; siblings Leslie Cross (Ernie), Mary Jane Moore (Douglas) and Lisa Witt (Christopher); his brother in-law Hugo Luke; and many loved nieces, nephews and cousins.

His memorial service will be determined at a later date.
