June of 2015 Jeff was diagnosed with stag  4 colon cancer that had metastasized to the liver.  After a liver biopsy to confirm cancer he went to the Mayo clinic in Rochester to start treatment. After numerous test it was determined to start chemo to shrink the tumors after 6 rounds of chemo at Mayo in Mankato he returned to Rochester for surgery.  More testing was done before surgery and a small spot was found in his abdomen area so on October 30th, 2015 he was taken into surgery to do a biopsy of the abdomen spot it was cancer because of this they would not be able to do surgery on the liver tumors or the colon tumor this was very disappointing. Jeff continued chemo for 12 more rounds and had a CT scan and the liver tumors where shrinking. 4 more rounds of chemo and another scan and the liver tumors started to grow again enough to be concerning according to the doctor. On October 12th of 2016 we went back to Rochester to look at having radiation or ablation therapy of the tumors after a ultrasound and MRI it was determined that there was more tumors on his liver and these where not a option. Back to chemotherapy this was the only option according to the doctor after 2 more rounds of a new mix of chemo we decided to get a second opinion at Cancer Treatment Centers of America. We left for Chicago on Sunday December 11, 2016.
