Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
On December 28, Jeff was rushed to Altru hospital in Grand Forks with the symptoms of a stroke. Altru sent him to Sanford in Fargo, where he was rushed into surgery. There was a blood clot in the carotid artery in his neck, which was cutting off blood flow to the brain, basically causing a stroke. The surgeon put in stents and told us the surgery went as good as could be expected, however, he was not out of the woods by any means and would be under careful observation. Jeff is alert and making good progress, able to move all his limbs on command but his speech has not returned as of yet.  We greatly appreciate all the well wishes we have received and I will try to keep this updated as much as possible. -Erin
