-Jeff’s Story-
Jeff has been diagnosed with Anaplastic Astrocytoma (grade three) brain cancer, at 26 years of age.
On July 24th, 2010 Jeff had a seizure at work and was taken by ambulance to Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. On the way to the hospital Jeff had another seizure. Shortly after arriving to the ER a CT scan was ordered which revealed two tumors in Jeff’s brain. After a LONG week in the hospital, a third seizure, and MANY tests, which included ;  a spinal tap, blood tests, MRI’s and CT scans, and a biopsy of Jeff’s Brain, the final diagnosis was given to us on June 30th, which I have stated above.  Jeff also got to go home that day which he was very happy about. The doctors are still considering the best treatment options for Jeff, but most likely radiation and chemotherapy will be a part of his treatments.  Surgery is not completely ruled out either and I will keep everyone posted about the treatments Jeff will be receiving in future journal entries.  Jeff will need to wait until his biopsy sight has healed before initiating treatment.  We also plan on getting a second opinion from mayo in Rochester.
Jeff and I have been married for two years in July and are expecting our first child mid August, a beautiful baby girl named Lucy. Although it may seem like "bad timing" with a baby so close to arriving (like there is ever a good time to get cancer) we feel so very blessed that God had given us this child before something like chemotherapy could possibly affect that.
Many questions of "why?" and things that we don't understand, many emotional ups and downs, but ultimately we remember that God works the impossible and makes good out of anything.  We also know that our family is strong and Jeff is a warrior.  He has the Armor of God to fit him for this battle! Jeff loves God with all his heart and knows that God will be near and with him every step of the way !
"Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith." Hebrews 12:1-2
