Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your prayer, support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting. In August Jeff had a major heart attack and was sent in an emergency situation to open up his artery with 2 stents. At the top of his left anterior descending (LAD) artery there was a 95% blockage and further down in that same artery one branch was 100% blocked. This is a “widow-maker” heart attack, and we were so grateful that he got quick intervention by very skilled healthcare professionals. He did well after the stents were done and had excellent care- his bloodwork was amazing. Everything seemed really good. Blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol numbers were all spot on! We are six months past that time. On Thursday 2/17 in the wee hours of the morning Jeff was taken to the hospital with chest pain and on 2/18 after an angioplasty and MRI of his heart, we now know that his stents are 99% blocked and he will be having bypass surgery. It is unusual to have the stents clog so quickly. The only complicating factor for Jeff is that he is diabetic- even well controlled this has an impact on his heart. Thank you all for your prayers and how many people have already stepped up to care for our family.
