Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Thank you for visiting "Grandma Jean's" Caring Bridge website. Grandma Jean was recently diagnosed with diffuse B cell lymphoma after what was thought to be pneumonia. She was transported from Grand View Hospital in her hometown of Ironwood, MI. to Aspirus Hospital in Wausau, WI. She received her first R-CHOP chemo treatment on October 11. It has a 70% cure rate so we are so excited about her chances to be cured. Grandma Jean will turn 87 on October 24.

On Thursday, October 19th, she was transported from Aspirus Hospital in Wausau to the Grace Foundation Rehabillation Center in Altoona, WI. Grace is a new facility that opened in 2016. She has her own room and her own bathroom.  It is very nice. She has also started PT and OT to help her gain her strength and independence.

Her husband, Adolph, has been by her side every day. He has been back to Ironwood to check mail and to complete the fall projects before the cold northwest winds and snow arrive. He continues to be very supportive and her rock through this unexpected journey. They have 3 sons, Larry, Randy, and Jim. They have lived on John's St in Ironwood., MI, for 60 years. They recently celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary on September 16th. They also have 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Larry and his wife,  Chris, live in Rice Lake which is 45 miles north of Altoona. Jim and his wife, Beth, live in Chippewa Falls. Randy and his wife, Diane, also live in Chippewa Falls which is about 10 miles north of Altoona. Her granddaughter, Sara and her husband, Ryan, live in Altoona about a mile from Grace. Another granddaughter, Courtney, lives in Eau Claire about 5 miles to the west.

Grandma Jean has had many family visitors visit since was transported to Wausau, Jim and Beth's son, Mike, and daughter, Katie who live in Madison have visited several times. Emily, who is in PT school in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, also visited the weekend of Oct 14-15th.

Larry and Chris's son, Nicholas, and his wife, Mandy, and their children Kayden, Nolan, and Madison who live in Pewaukee, WI,  have been to visit Grandma Jean. So have daughter, Whitney and her fiancé, Tom Prestby who live in Green Bay. Daughter Kimberly and her fiancé, Jesse Briedenbach, who live and work in Madison have also visited.

Grandma Jean has also had great support from her sister's Sally, Diana, and Arlene and her brother, Eric. Sally lives in Wausau was a frequent visitor and Diana and Eric came to visit her on October 14th, in Wausau. They have been very supportive through daily phone calls.

Grandma Jean has also been receiving supportive phone calls from close friends, Darlene and George Palmer. She has also received many cards which she greatly enjoys reading or listening to as they are read to her.

If you'd like to send a card, please send it to Jean Passint, c/o Randy Passint  9550 167th St. Chippewa Falls, WI 54729.

No one fights cancer alone and as you can see, Grandma Jean's team is with her through this journey.
