Jeannine Lauersdorf Jeannine’s Prayer Tribe

I retired June 12, 2019. I had my annual physical and mammogram the end of June. Everything was fine, no issues at all. I found a lump in my breast on August 31st. What a shock! The next couple weeks were a whirlwind of emotions, appointments, specialists, tests, etc...and then came the dreaded words, “You have aggressive breast cancer.” So, here I am, in a club I never wanted to join. Trying to accept that this is ME we’re talking about, not somebody else this time. It took a few days to really let that sink in. I knew it could happen to me. I knew nobody is immune from this. Why not me? I wasn’t angry, but I was sad, a little scared, but also more calm than I thought I’d be. I know that is God. He’s got me. I am one blessed woman. I am wrapped up in His love, and the love, support, positive thoughts, and most of all the prayers, of so many wonderful family and friends. I have a TRIBE of PRAYER WARRIORS that are lifting me up, and it is amazing how I can feel this support! Today, starts BREAST CANCER AWARENESS month, and one week from today (October 8th) I will have surgery to hopefully remove all this cancer from my body. I am ready for the fight of my life, I am strong, and I can do this! I have such a wonderful husband, 6 great kids along with their amazing spouses, and 12 of the most beautiful grandchildren you’ve ever seen. 😉 All of them are loving and supporting me on this journey. I also have the greatest friends, from near and far, who are holding me close in their hearts and praying for me. Like I said earlier, I AM ONE BLESSED WOMAN.
