Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
Jeanne Gordley, or as I like to call her, Mom, is currently a strong, independent, 87 year old who spends the majority of her time doing crossword puzzles while enjoying a glass of wine on her beautiful back porch overlooking the harbor. A few weeks ago she began to experience discomfort in her lower abdomen and after running multiple tests they have determined she does in fact have cancer.
This coming Tuesday Mom will be having a colectomy and removal of metastatic lesions in her abdomen. Following the surgery she will be hospitalized for a week. After recovering she will begin chemotherapy in October.
Mom is mentally and physically prepared for whatever outcome occurs (in true Bader form!). She has an amazing perspective on this curveball life has thrown her and is thankful to have such an amazing support system of family and friends.
As we know more we will continue to update this page. We thank everyone for their well wishes and prayers.
