My journey I will be going through that I would like to Share with Family and Friends!!
Bobby and I looking forward to a Cruise April 15th with GREAT friends who are getting married at our first stop in St. Thomas. 4 days prior I found a lump on my right breast - call my family doctor who set up a mamo 1 day back from the cruise. We had the GREATEST time on the cruise. Love You Randi and Joe!!
4/25 - mamo - shows worrisome area. SAME day my family doctor called to give me steps to start my journey.
4/26 - trying to decide my choice of who to go with - Decision went with 2 places - Binghamton NY and Utica NY. This was based on recommendations. I received many, but was overwhelmed.
made a decision to go local in Utica NY - going through the steps prior to surgery - office visit - biopsy - blood work - office visit- xrays - MRI - office visit
I felt like I should have gotten a room at the surgeons office for Bobby and I. lots of questions - sitting - worry and decision
test shows Cancer - Stage 1 - right breast - looks like (in my words not the test results) with it being in one place maybe not spreading and my surgery is this Thursday May 18th. I can say - Happy Me!!! I am going to beat the C!!!
Monday - May 15th - Getting close to my surgery. Taking each day at a time. I feel real good about this!! Bobby and I like the surgeon and feel confident. The procedure as of now is a lumpectomy with a sentinel node biopsy (just as a precaution). Bobby and I Thank all of you for understanding calling each person for updates would be overwhelming.
Sunday May 21st - had my surgery on Thursday. Dr Max went in and took additional nodes out for precaution and the tumor is out!! very brief home after 2 days in the hospital. Bobby and I are doing good. tired and catching up on sleep. doctors appt on Tuesday for our next step. hoping radiation and not another surgery.
Tuesday May 23 - followed up with the surgeon. found more cancer in the margin area. knowing this could have been the outcome- surgery June 1st - We are trying to process all this. We know you are there to support us and we Thank You!
