Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

This is a place that I never expected to be, but here I am.  I was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma of the left breast last week (May 16, 2017). Fortunately, it has been discovered early as it was not there one year ago.  I have always been faithful about getting my annual mammogram  so I'm living proof as to why it is so  important to be faithful getting checked.

I see the surgeon in three weeks (June 12) and the plan for my care is to be treated at Levine Cancer Institute here in Charlotte.  I'm so blessed to have such a supportive husband, daughters, sons-in-law, extended family and friends, and I know that I will conquer this monster that has invaded my body! I've chosen the motto " #fightlikekat" for this journey in honor of my daughter, Kat, who lost her life to cancer in Sept 2012. (Kat's story is here: (https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/katanderson).  If my courageous girl could go through everything that she did, then I can do this!
