Jean English

Hi, this is Debbie, Grandma Jean's daughter. Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement during this time when it matters most.

For decades, Jean has been providing loving care, support, and encouragement to dozens of people. Whether close family, friends, or little munchkins at her appropriately named "Grandma Jean's Daycare", Jean was always there to love and lend a hand.

Over the last few years, Grandma's health has declined quickly. Although she was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis in her early 40's, she remained active and enjoyed her mountain lifestyle up until about 5 years ago. Osteoarthritis, degenerative arthritis, osteoporosis, and scoliosis along with Rheumatoid added to the autoimmune disease complexity she had in store for her future. Several bone and joint surgeries (neck, knees, shoulder, hip) were required because of major damage. A life-threatening incident of Congestive Heart Failure expedited the move from BlackHawk to Arvada to be closer to medical care. And then, as if life wasn't already tough enough, she contracted MRSA (staph infection), during a botched hip replacement, and now requires consistent antibiotics.

This wonderful woman who has given so much care over the years is now completely immobile because of a major wound on her foot. She cannot put any weight on it at all if it has any chance of healing. She is taking infusions at home as well as at an infusion center several times a week and has to visit a special wound center to change a wound pump and dressing that she has on her foot twice a week as well.

Any help for her husband, my dad, and her primary care giver, would really be appreciated as he is pretty overwhelmed with all there is to do. Even an encouraging note to her would be extremely appreciated. I will do my best to keep their needs updated on this site. Please lend a hand if you feel led.

Thank you in advance for your prayers and your help.
