Dec 23, 2013 - diagnosed stage 2 breast (ER/PR+, her2-, grade 3), cancer (lumpectomy, mastectomy, reconstruction, IV chemotherapy, revision surgeries, maintenance/follow ups).

Dec 31, 2018 cancer returned - metastasized to bones, lung (malignant pleural effusion) spots on liver; now stage 4. Several ER visits (also in Jan 2019 with hospitalization), thoracentesis, PleurX catheter placed in L lung to drain fluids at home, more continued treatments (oral, injections, IV) including radiation therapy and maintenance.

Jan 2022 (few trips to ER prior to Jan) return of malignant pleural effusion - thoracentesis done
Feb 2022 - ER/hospitalization, VATS completed, PleurX catheter placed in L lung.
Nov 2022 - ER/hospitalization, thoracentesis performed, pains controlled.

PET/CT scan Mar 2022 confirmed even more progression (compared to Nov 2021 PET progression results), more spreads of the cancer, and its aggressiveness. PET/CT, other diagnostics performed after March:
Aug 2022: “mixed results”
Oct 2022: progression
Nov 2022: progression (new brain lesions)
Dec 2022: progression (new liver lesions)

Reality (Oncologist has prepared her too) it’s not good, odds aren’t in her favor and time is not on her side.  While Jeanelle is still here, she (and Christian) can’t do this alone.  “It takes a village”.
