Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Dear Friends,

Thank you for your love and support of Jeannie. Right now, all we know is that she has two small brain tumors, one of which will be removed during "minimally invasive" brain surgery in the afternoon on Tuesday, September 20th. She will be in the hospital at least one night but, if she has no adverse reactions to the anesthesia, she may get to come home on Wednesday. This is so fantastic -- modern medicine has come such a long way and we are grateful to be reaping the benefits. We have a fantastic neurosurgeon at Swedish on First Hill, Dr. Litvack, whom we trust to do an excellent job.

She is in no pain, is able to drive and converse and eat and sleep and enjoy her friends, her dog, her family and her boat. She feels very loved by how strongly her community has rallied around her. The tumor which is being removed is the one causing the symptoms we noticed; impaired ability to string long sentences together, text and write. Those facilities may fully return -- fingers crossed. Of course, even with two brain tumors, she is still smarter than most of us can ever hope to be.

There is no prognosis as of today, Sunday the 18th. Until the tumor is removed and analyzed, we just do not know what treatment options will be or what next steps are. We will update this site as we have more information to share. Leslie has a strong dislike of misinformation going out so please refer people who want the details or want to discuss the details, to this site or to Leslie.

And, speaking of gratitude, thanks so very much again to all of you who have offered to help and who have reached out to Jeannie to let her know you love her. You all rock.

Mela will manage this site and her email address is Big thanks to Mela and to Hilary for jumping in to handle the pressing logistics.

With love and gratitude and hope,
