As many of you know Jay began his battle with AML in October, 2018. He was hospitalized in November for one month for chemotherapy induction. This induction was successful and bone marrow results at that time were clean. A repeat bone marrow was done mid December and it showed slightly elevated blasts, meaning not all the cancer was gone. This week, he has had 2 "chemo boosts" to kill any remaining cancer cells. The plan is to undergo stem cell transplant sometime mid February. Details to follow. If the stem cell transplant is successful then he comes home and recuperates for 1 year. This means that for 1 year he is not allowed to go in any public places because he has a "baby" immune system and is very susceptible to any bacteria or virus. It will be challenging but we are confident he will make it through and go on to say that he is AML cured. Please pray for him. We so appreciate your prayers. Our faith is strong and we know that God has a special plan for Jay and that His name will be glorified through this battle. God has already shown His mercies and love through this whole ordeal. We can give testimony to His presence in our lives. We take this journey one day at a time. It is written in Jeremiah 29: 11-13, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. 13 You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. (ESV).
