In January 2020, Jay was diagnosed with stomach cancer. At that time the cancer was contained to his stomach and he was offered radiation as a treatment option. From the beginning we were told that the radiation would help slow things down and possibly shrink the cancer, but it wouldn’t be a cure. He underwent radiation for 2 months and handled it well in his typical “tough old bird” way. Since that time, he’s continued to have follow up appointments and scans, A couple of weeks ago he had a routine scan and a few days later we found out that the cancer had spread to his liver and abdominal cavity. His doctor presented a few options, 1) Keytruda, 2) Herceptin, or 3) Home hospice. After lots of conversation, prayer and research, Jay along with his family have made the decision to move forward with option 3. Already there have been several people that have reached out and visited Jay and Bev at their home, and if you know them at all...you know how much they love that. We will continue to post updates here in the days ahead and we covet your prayers and support.
