Hello friends, family, neighbors, parishioners and everyone!  Thanks so much for your words of encouragement and your prayers since we've had this challenging situation with Jay.   As many of you may know, Jay has had a "treatable" aneurysm on one of his arteries which has called for a surgical procedure.   It's been a while trying to get the surgery scheduled, and Jay has even used the term "routine" or "simple procedure" in the past.   Well no surgery involving the heart & circulatory system is routine or simple.  As it turned out, we had some serious complications to the surgery which was on January 23rd.   After what was seemingly a successful surgery, the next day they called Jay in to surgery again, due to complications.  Since then, due to two surgeries in two days, and other circulatory and kidney issues, Jay has suffered greatly with an induced coma, and other challenges.   The family, and we know all of you, are praying for healing & recovery, and for steady hands for the caregivers so that our dear Jay can get back to all the great work he does for his fellow men and women, including with SVDP, Catholic Charities, Respect Life, St. Monica's and so much more.  All of you touched by his great love have been reaching out and offering your support, and we thank you!

We are going to try to use this CaringBridge Website to try to keep you posted on progress as we go forward, since as you can understand, keeping everyone updated in the midst of all that is going on can be a challenge.

So many of you have asked "How can I help" and we thank you.  As time goes on we may need help with meals and household issues and we'll certainly keep you posted.  For now we believe in the power of prayer, so we ask for that!  Jay is a firm believer in the strength of the Rosary Prayer and we know hundreds (thousands) of Rosaries have been prayed on his behalf thus far.  Keep it up and may God bless you all!
