Hello friends and family -
If you haven’t heard already, wonderful Jay is in good hands at Regions Hospital in St. Paul. He's been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (which means Acute = comes on FAST, and Myeloid Leukemia (cancer) affects his white blood cell production - his immune system).

Dad has improved considerably since last week when the sudden worst occurred on their drive back from Arizona - luckily they were in Albuquerque NM near a hospital. They flew him up to St Paul to be closer to home, and Regions hospital has been wonderful for us - it's good to see him getting stronger. He is doing better this week, and his humor is definitely still there. :)

His condition makes it hard for his body to fight off infection, so please be careful not to spread germs if you visit him, and he cannot accept live flowers or plants at this time, due to the bacteria and bugs they can bring into his room.

He is also very weak (but puts on a strong front!), so visits should be kept short, if possible.

His treatment is 7 days of chemo, and then we wait for a month to see how that works. The next two weeks will be the toughest on him, so we are all hoping and praying for his health and strength to get better - as soon as possible. Thank you everyone for your well-wishes and prayers, we sure do appreciate it!
