On October 25, 2016, our colleague, friend and loved one, Jay Accashian was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma of the pancreas or “pancreatic cancer”. Kristin Dohrn, Jay’s fiance, has been by Jay’s side since the news was delivered and we have been focused on sharing time together, with friends and family. Jay did not have symptoms until the cancer had metastasized to his liver. We understand the gravity of the situation and that quality of life is the most important. We need positive energy and encouragement as we fight this cancer together.
Currently, we have met with a GI oncologist at the University of Colorado that we really liked and is involved with many clinical trials in Denver. On November 11, 2016 we will be meeting with other specialists at Johns Hopkins and Memorial Sloan Kettering.
We are overwhelmed with the outpouring of support from all the incredible friends and family and through this site we will share his health updates to keep you informed. We would greatly appreciate hearing from you, so please write letters and cards (not email or text) and mail it to Jay’s home (1343 S. Lincoln Street, Denver CO 80210). Send positive messages, funny stories, great memories, and humiliating stories of Jay.
As we develop the medical plans moving forward, we will need your support with meals, errands, and encouragement. We will be posting updates on the site and will use the “planner” function to schedule opportunities for you to support us through this difficult journey.
Thank you for your love, support, friendship, and respect. Love, Kristin Dohrn and Jay Accashian.
